excellent access to local attractions and scenic walks
My stay was enhanced by the convenient proximity to attractions like Cucumber Falls, just over 3 km away, perfect for a scenic walk, and the charming Mount Washington Tavern, around 7 km from the hotel, which offered a delightful glimpse into local history. while the hotel provided a cozy atmosphere that's hard to beat, the bathrooms could use an update but it didn't overshadow the overall charm of the experience.

The historic charm and architecture were truly captivating.
I can't believe I had to tackle multiple flights of steps to reach my room without an elevator! It was tiring, especially after a long day of exploring. The bathroom was uncomfortably small and quite outdated, which fell short of my expectations. Additionally, the musty smell lingering in the room made it hard for me to relax and fully enjoy my stay.

The Historic Summit Inn truly has an old-world charm. I loved enjoying my coffee in the cozy lobby while soaking up the stunning architecture and the warmth from the fireplace. The evening cocktails on the deck were a highlight, especially with the crisp weather and a solid cocktail selection that complemented the beautiful sunset views.
The bathrooms could use an update and felt quite small.

was I supposed to be impressed by the tiny, musty room? for what I paid, a complimentary breakfast or upgrade woudl ve been expected. dinner on the veranda was a highlight, until the scallops risotto nearly spoiled it with its saltiness. I almost considered a good review, but frankly, it just couldn’t happen.

It was just a commendable fit for strolling in Chalk Hill with great value for the money. The views from the balcony were stunning, especially during the sunsets. Keep your expectations realistic, as it is an older property with charming character.

The porch of the hotel features stunning sunset views, a great spot to unwind with a drink after a long day. The golf course adds a unique touch with well-maintained greens, taking advantage of the beautiful landscape nearby, making each round enjoyable.
This hotel lacks an elevator, so be prepared to haul your luggage up several flights of steps. not ideal if you’re packed for a longer stay. The indoor/outdoor carpeting on the porch shows stains and buckling, taking away from the overall charm. The restaurant’s tenderloin medallions were over-seasoned and the grilled oysters remained in their shells, making them tough to eat. Additionally, several rooms had a musty smell, which could be off-putting for some guests.

The hotel's lobby features stunning woodwork and stone fireplaces, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere, truly reminiscent of a bygone era. It’s a charming place to relax and enjoy the remarkable views overlooking the valley.
An elevator would enhance accessibility for seniors.

The food was delicious and the cozy lobby was a perfect spot to relax with my morning coffee. I loved unwinding in the indoor pool and the outdoor seating area was wonderful for catching some sun. The only thing I noticed was that the hallways could use a little freshening up. I’d recommend making dinner reservations early to snag a great table! 😊
